The River

The River have been honing their sound for more than two decades, evolving from the monolithic low & slow bludgeon of their earlier releases into a more measured, thoughtful & nuanced proposition on more recent recordings. Now equally at home as a full electric experience as they are an organic acoustic unit, the band mixes fragile vocals over down tempo rhythms to create a bittersweet & wistful sound. Constantly adding new colours to their musical palette, & taking the music through greater peaks & valleys in the process, the now multi-instrumental nature of the music helps to explore & push the band’s sound forward into richer, more varied, more textured, & ultimately more mature forms without ever sacrificing their heavier roots.
