Leper Angel
Leper Angel is a British black metal band that was started in the city of Wakefield, England in 2016. In the band’s early days as a four-piece, the band performed under the name “Minas Morgul” until 2019 when the group learned of a much older, and much more established German band using the same name, and Leper angel would go through various line-up changes until becoming a solo band in early 2020.
Heavily inspired by the early black metal scene of the 80’s and 90’s as well as doom metal, punk rock, and the occult; The band’s lead songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Rakhurz, creates a slower paced black metal that’s as meditative as it is violent and loud. The band has also delved into darker compositions for synthesisers like “The Silence That Follows”, and “A Ritual To Channel The Darkest Magick”.
Leper Angel have, to date, released one album, available on Bandcamp as an independent release. Rakhurz has openly stated her anti-fascist position as well as support for the LGBTQIA+ community, and, as a transgender woman herself, is a staunch supporter of transgender rights in medicine and legal representation.
